NM Pastors' Prayer Initiative

Each Sunday, pastors can pray something like the prayers listed below. Ask your people to pray right along with you where they are. Tell them to pray each day at noon for life, and to share this idea with their like-minded friends and family.  We will be updating these prayers throughout the 60-day session:

PRAYER 1

Father God,

From Psalms 119:12-14, "We thank You for telling us that each person is fearfully and wonderfully made in our mother’s womb.  We know life begins at the moment of conception, a fact proven by current technologies.  In Proverbs 6: 17, we find that one of the “seven things that are detestable to the Lord” is “hands that shed innocent blood”.

No one is more innocent than an unborn child. So, Lord God, we plead with you:

Enable the minds of each lawmaker to see that abortion is not empowering to women – it is victimizing the mother, the father, and their baby.  Soften the hearts of legislators, so that they craft laws that honor life over death.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen

PRAYER 2

Father God,

Forgive us, as we have failed to be true to Your command in Luke 10:27: “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind.  And you must love your neighbor just as much as you love yourself.”  Help us to be good neighbors.

Who is your neighbor? Per the words of the Lord in Luke 10:37 NIV, “your neighbor” is “the one who had mercy.”  In this biblical story, a neighbor, a Samaritan stranger, walked across the road and saved the life of a wounded man by taking him to an inn where he could be treated and paid for the cost of care.

Contrast this neighbor’s life-saving love to today’s culture that puts immense pressure on a woman with an unplanned pregnancy to kill her unborn child by means of abortion. Killing a child is the antithesis of love. Help us to show love to our neighbors - to anyone and everyone in a way that honors You and honors the life You've given us.

PRAYER 3

Dear Heavenly Father,

We ask that you take the minds of our elected politicians and legislators and tune them to Your Truth. We know human life is sacred and protecting the innocent is righteous.

Matthew 18:14 ...It is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Jeremiah 22:3 Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.

God, we know you take this so seriously and personally because You made humanity in Your image. To murder another person is to mount an attack on the One who created him.

Show us how we can influence those who have so much power over the lives of New Mexicans. Show us how to walk and where to go, so we might lead others toward You, and toward protecting the innocent.

PRAYER 4

Father God,

Your will is clearly stated in Leviticus 18:21: “You shall not give any of your children to offer them
to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.” The Israelites disobeyed and offered their children as burnt offerings to Molech. We know that an idol is something or someone that we put before You, God. And alarmingly, abortion is the vehicle by which Americans offer their unborn children to the idol of money.

In 2004, 40% of women who had an abortion cited financial considerations as their reason, and another 26% cited they were not financially ready to have a child. Since 1973, a total of 63.6 million children
have been sacrificed via abortion in the United States.

Lord, drop the scales from our eyes, so we can see that abortion is the primary Satanic idol in the US. Wake us, Lord, so that we can see the depths of our depravity. Turn our eyes toward the NYC Courthouse where a horned "goddess", a Satanic golden medusa statue, was erected to symbolize abortion “rights”, and then fill our hearts with horror that we have honored a demon and an ancient civilization that practiced child sacrifice. Forgive us, and turn us back to your will.

PRAYER 5

Father God,

Please send a host of angels and Godly citizens to prohibit any legislator in New Mexico from supporting the proposed HB-7, "Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Health Care Freedom Act."

Please send a legion of angels and Godly citizens to prohibit any legislator in New Mexico from supporting the proposed HB 7. How long can we continue the sacrifice of children without seeing the consequences?? Leviticus 20:1 ‘Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, … 3 I will also set My face against that man [opposing him, withdrawing My protection from him] and will cut him off from his people [excluding him from the atonement made for them] because he has given some of his children to Molech, so as to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name. “

Father God, Turn us back to Your will and You alone. Give us the courage to stand against abortion which
is an abomination to You.

PRAYER 6

Father God,

Please soften the heart of our Governor and the NM legislators, and keep them from becoming the hard-hearted people of Psalm 17:10: “Like clay baking in the sun, their hearts have hardened; arrogance spills from their mouths.”

Listen to the abortion arrogance that overflows from a press release by the Governor of New Mexico, “We eliminated New Mexico’s antiquated trigger ban on abortion, safeguarding the right of every woman in this state… to decide for themselves – and their families – when to have children.”

The governor’s arrogance equates abortion to family planning despite the fact that low- or no-cost birth control has been made widely available in New Mexico.

There is a caution for our Governor in 1 Samuel 2:3: “Do not go on boasting so very proudly, Do not let arrogance come out of your mouth; For the LORD is a God of knowledge, And with Him, actions are weighed.”

Not only does the NM Catholic governor want to legalize abortions up to birth, but she also wants to recruit more abortionists to kill unborn babies. Catholic Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann, the chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Pro-Life Activities said “While we can object to the actions of these public officials, we are not able to judge their souls. At the same time, we know there will be a Judgment Day.”

The Catholic Church teaches that every human life is valuable from conception to natural death, and abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and other life-destroying practices are evil. Christian Bible believers strongly echo 2 Corinthians 10:5: “We are destroying arguments and all arrogance raised against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.”

Father God, we ask that our Governor become joined in heart, soul, and mind with Lady Wisdom, Sanity, Knowledge, Discretion, Insight, and Virtue of Proverbs 8:13-16. Instill a Fear-of-God and hatred of Evil in her.

Proverbs 8:13-16: I am Lady Wisdom, and I live next to Sanity; Knowledge and Discretion live just down the street. The Fear-of-GOD means hating Evil, whose ways I hate with a passion— pride and arrogance and crooked talk. Good counsel and common sense are my characteristics; I am both Insight and the Virtue to live them out.

With my help, leaders rule, and lawmakers legislate fairly; With my help, governors govern, along with all in legitimate authority. I love those who love me; those who look for me find me.

Father God, we honor your words in Genesis 9:8-10 (Bible: The Voice). “All life is sacred. Human life is especially so. Protecting it is of utmost importance to God. He takes this so seriously and personally because He made humanity reflect Him. We are His earthly representatives, made in His image. To murder another person is to mount an attack on the One who created him.”

PRAYER 7

Father God,

We glorify You as the creator of all things, and we are thankful that we have been given the magnificent ability to procreate. We honor You that You are blessed forever. You have given us the gift of a righteous heart justified by our unwavering faith in Christ. Our hearts are broken and our tears are streaming that our legislators no longer seek nor inquire of Your will.

Forgive our House Judiciary Legislators who voted to approve the Godless abominations like:
• No explicit protections for conscientious objectors of abortion and transgender mutilations.
• Removing the parent’s role in managing their children
• Deriding the Catholic Church’s beliefs against abortion
• Reducing the availability of OB GYN doctors in NM
• Allowing for the provision of abortions up to date of birth
• Offering no age limits for transgender procedures - even though children’s brains are not fully developed until age 21

Transform the hearts and soften the hearts of stone evidenced by these legislators and lead them to Your righteousness.

Per Romans 1, You tell us that a legislator could only vote for such a fatally flawed bill if God is NOT in their thoughts:
Romans 1:28-32 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God [that abortion is evil], that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Forgive our legislators who have made a devil’s bargain - they have exchanged the truth of God for the arrogance of abortion and the futile speculations of Satan, and are serving Satan rather than You, the Creator of all life. Please quickly turn their thoughts back to Your truth and cause them to seek repentance.
